About The

Family Outreach Coalition

Our story begins in 1998, when our founder and his wife opened up a restaurant called Sweet Georgia Brown's Restaurant located in Colorado Springs, Colorado next to Fort Carson, Army Base.

After 1 Year in business the USO on Fort Carson Army Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado, asked the owner's if they would be willing to provide meals for 2000 soldiers twice a week, leaving to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Later on, the couple‚Äôs decided to create a nonprofit organization called the Family Outreach Coalition. This would allow them to receive Tax Write off donations to help with their mission in feeding the troops, supporting homeless veterans, and Jobs to veterans and there families.

As their mission kept moving forward, they decided to expand the nonprofit organization to Arlington, Texas in 2010.

This is when they wanted to find a way to become self-supportive while doing what they did in Colorado. So in October of 2012, they opened up there first store in Arlington, Texas, that created revenue to support there mission.

This store became an immediate success, leading them to open five more stores throughout the Dallas / Fort Worth Texas Area. This organization went on in helping more than 5,000 Displaced American Veterans and there families in finding Housing, Employment, Rental Assistants, and Monetary support.  This Stores donated clothing, furniture, food, and much more to many veterans who came knocking at our door for help.

Then in September of 2016, our founder had a tragic accident, along with the 2020 Pandemic which led to the closing of all the Veteran Thrift Stores.  After the Founder of this Organization, being dormant for more than 4 years and surviving COVID-19, He is again trying to make a comeback to leave his legacy of helping all Veterans and their families.  This is why were asking you to help us make this store a reality again.
